Privacy Policy
Hermitsh Texts is built to make public-domain literature easier to read, search, cite, and connect to modern tools while collecting as little personal information as practical.
Last updated: June 10, 2026. This policy applies to Hermitsh Texts, the public author editions, and the Hermitsh Texts AI/API access surfaces.
What Hermitsh does not do
- Hermitsh Texts does not use tracking cookies.
- Hermitsh Texts does not run advertising networks.
- Hermitsh Texts does not sell your email address or personal information.
Information collected automatically
Hermitsh collects limited, privacy-conscious internal analytics to understand whether the library is useful and whether pages, searches, Kindle links, and AI access are working. These records may include page path, hostname, referrer host, language, timestamp, event type, clicked link labels, and similar usage information.
Hermitsh is hosted behind Cloudflare. Cloudflare and related infrastructure may process technical information such as IP address, user agent, request time, and security signals to deliver the site, protect it from abuse, and provide operational logs or analytics.
Email signup
If you join the email list, Hermitsh collects the email address you submit and may store basic context such as the page where the signup occurred. Hermitsh uses that information to send project updates, new edition announcements, feature notes, and related messages. You can ask to be removed by contacting [email protected].
AI access, MCP, and API requests
Hermitsh Texts provides read-only AI/API access to public corpus material. If you or your AI assistant sends a query to Hermitsh, the query and related request information may be processed to return source-linked results, operate the service, prevent abuse, and debug reliability issues. Do not send sensitive personal information in AI/API queries.
Hermitsh's own AI-access analytics are aggregate-only: they record which tool or API route was called, which author or work it concerned, a coarse client label (for example "claude" or "browser"), whether the call succeeded, and a timestamp. They do not store your query text, IP address, or any visitor or session identifier.
Third-party services and links
Some pages may load external assets such as web fonts. Kindle links and other outbound links may take you to third-party sites such as Amazon. Those third-party sites are governed by their own privacy policies and terms.
